A seasoned professional, Dr. Nicholas Pachuda serves as the chief operating officer at Pep-tilogics and a general partner at Mountain State Capital, a seed-stage venture fund. He serves on several boards of medtech startups. He is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of clinical and industry experience in life sciences, including orthopedics, medtech, and bio-tech. He has held executive roles in R&D, clinical development, portfolio innovation, busi-ness development, and commercial/P&L. Dr. Pachuda's leadership has been pivotal in the success of two startups (Small Bone Innovations exit to Stryker and Scient’x Spine exit to Alphatec) and three multinationals, including a decade at Johnson & Johnson, where he led Global External Innovation. His strategic vision and innovative thinking were evident in the foundational investments/acquisitions of their robotics, anti-infection, and regenerative medicine verticals. Dr. Pachuda co-founded the extremities business at Arthrex and led M&A and New Ventures for Synthes, where he launched their first Ambulatory Surgery Cen-ter commercial business. His professional background includes training as a foot and an-kle surgeon and completing an international orthopedic trauma fellowship.
